Closing Your Old Account
Before you close your old account, make sure to leave enough money to cover any outstanding checks and and automatic withdrawals.
Once all of these outstanding charges have been paid, ask your previous bank or credit union to send your remaining balance(s) to you or directly to your new account with us. Then, destroy all of your old checks, ATM cards, debit cards and deposit slips.

STEP 1: Click here for the Authorization to Change Direct Deposit form. Use this form to send to your employer if you receive a direct deposit of your payroll. Other Direct Deposits may include taxes, retirement/pension plan accounts or expense reimbursements.
Customers receiving Social Security payments should contact the Social Security Administration by calling (800) 333-1795 or visit www.ssa.gov.
STEP 2: Click here for the Notice of Automatic Withdrawal Change form. Use this form to send to all companies whom you have automatic withdrawals. Make copies as needed.
STEP 3: Click here for the Authorization to Close Account form. Use this form to send to your financial institution where you will be closing your account.
If you have Time Certificates at your previous bank, click here for the Authorization to Close Time Certificate form. Use this form to send to your financial institution where you have Time Certificates you wish to have transferred to Scott State Bank, upon maturity.
Miscellaneous Reminders:
Online Bill Payment – Be sure to cancel each individual payee and enter them into your Scott State Bank online bill payment service (if applicable).
Automatic Debit Card Payments – contact any companies that you currently have automatic charges coming out of your account that are billed through your debit card.

Your previous bank or your service partners may require you to make any of these requests in person or other method. They may also require additional information that is not included on the forms provided.
